Coastcare Working Bees
Coastcare Working Bees
2013/14 Coordinator - Mrs Janice McTackett
Working Bees are regularly held on the 2nd Sunday and last Wednesday of each month, except January. The Working Bees generally go for 2 to 3 hours. The group generally meets at the Bush Street Reserve at 8am and is made up of local people who enjoy spending time together and weeding, planting and generally caring for the local coastal environment. The Association has a fully operational nursery where the propogation from locally collected seeds occurs. There is no formal commitment to become a Coastcare Volunteer - no minimum days or hours - just turn up when you can! Wyong Shire Council provides basic training in coast care principles. Safety equipment is also proivided. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours and a good way to increase your circle of friends.
